Kelly Jean Schwab became the bride of Scott H. Drew Sept. 23, 2000, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. The Rev. Paul Short and James Hicks performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Mary Miller of Cape Girardeau, and trumpeter was Jared Prost of Perryville, Mo. Soloists were Tracy Lohmeier, cousin of the bride, and Brandon Hahs, both of Cape Girardeau.
Parents of the couple are Jerry and Phyllis Schwab of Cape Girardeau and Dr. Homer and Janet Drew of Valparaiso, Ind.
Matron of honor was Kathryn Sanders of Fort Worth, Texas. Bridesmaids were Alicia Powell of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Katherine Schwab of Atlanta, Ga., sister-in-law of the bride; Dana Shaw of Trieste, Italy, sister of the groom; and Elizabeth Schupbach of Cleveland, Ohio.
Bryce Drew of Houston, Texas, served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Dr. Robert Behrend of Valparaiso; Dr. Jeffrey Schwab of Atlanta, brother of the bride; Casey Shaw of Trieste, brother-in-law of the groom; and Dr. Thomas Denmark of Kansas City, Mo., cousin of the groom. Ushers were Frank Spanopolous of Valparaiso, Dr. Ray Spinelli of Bonita Springs, Fla., Troy Gardner of Indianapolis, Ind., Casey Schmidt of Verona, Italy, Dr. David Ryser of Indianapolis, and Sean Howard of Tampa, Fla.
Jill Falvey of Lees Summit, Mo., cousin of the groom, attended the guest book. Programs were handed out by Andrew Marks of St. Louis, cousin of the groom, and Gwenda Bennett of Washington, D.C.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at Holiday Inn Convention Center.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 22 at Cape Girardeau Country Club.
Mrs. Drew is a 1992 graduate of Central High School. She received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.
The groom is a 1989 graduate of Valparaiso High School. He received a bachelor of arts degree in political science and history from Butler University in Indianapolis, and master of arts degree in history from Valparaiso University. He is assistant men's basketball coach at Valparaiso University.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple will reside in Valparaiso.
