WEDDING: MAURER-MCGUIRE

Melissa Renee Maurer and Nathan Garrett McGuire exchanged vows June 1, 2001, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Milton F. Ryan performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Beverly Reece, trumpeter was Marc Fulgham, and soloist was Alan Bruns, all of Cape Girardeau.

Parents of the couple are Jim and Teresa Maurer and Jay and Theresa McGuire, all of Cape Girardeau.

Lori Maurer of St. Louis was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Hamm of New Hamburg, Mo., Tara Mosby of St. Louis, and Jennifer Heuring of Cape Girardeau.

Best man was Jeff Shambaugh of Fort Wayne, Ind. Groomsmen were Matt Vollink; Lanson DeBrock; Jerrett and Brent McGuire, brothers of the groom, all of Cape Girardeau. Junior groomsman was Seth McGuire of Cape Girardeau, brother of the groom. Ushers were Jeffrey Maurer of Cape Girardeau, brother of the bride; Lance Reinagel of Kelso, Shawn Scharenborg of Jackson, Darren Heuring and Danny Wittenborn of Cape Girardeau.

Reader was Jeffrey Maurer.

Giftbearers were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Rhodes, grandparents of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Don Crowe and Linda Hester, grandparents of the groom.

Flower girl was Kerry McGuire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin McGuire of Ashburn, Va., and cousin of the groom. Ringbearer was Russell Beussink, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brad Beussink of Jackson and cousin of the bride.

Candlelighters were Missy Ashby of Cape Girardeau and J.Y. Miller of Savannah, Ga.

Guest book attendants were Jody Grim and Dee Dee Siebert, aunts of the bride, and Patty Heath, aunt of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at the Osage Community Centre. Servers were Pat Bratton, Elaine Beussink and Carla Millham, aunts of the bride.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner May 31 in the church fellowship room.

Mrs. McGuire is a 1998 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in child development from Southeast Missouri State University in May 2001. She is employed at St. Louis Children's Hospital Child Development Center.

The groom is a 1997 graduate of Notre Dame High School, attended Southeast University, and is attending Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville School of Dental Medicine.

The couple resides in Alton, Ill.
