Kelly Elizabeth Haubold and Robert Franklin Guard were married July 22, 2000, at Lynwood Baptist Church. The Rev. Gary Belcher performed the double ring ceremony. Pianist was Shane Steck, classical guitarists were Chip Sepulvado and Marshall Marietta, and vocalists were Jamie Becker and Sepulvado.
Charles and Teresa Haubold Jr. of Cape Girardeau are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Donna and Kenneth Wallace and Paul and Sherri Guard, all of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Jessica Balogh of Cape Girardeau. Matron of honor was Heather Mitten of Cape Girardeau, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Chasity Collins and Jamie Stahly of Cape Girardeau; Amy Kiplinger of Scott City, Mo., cousin of the bride; Amanda Broshuis of Advance, Mo.; and Kelli Underwood of Cape Girardeau.
Ben Arbeiter served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Trae Bertrand and Chip Sepulvado of Cape Girardeau, Travis Brown and Mike Wapelhorst of St. Charles, Mo., Ryan Strasser of St. Louis, Marshall Marietta and Daniel Richardson of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Trae Mitten of Cape Girardeau, brother-in-law of the bride; Dave Wilkinson of Chicago, Ryan Stahly of Chatham, Ill., and Pierce Mason of Cape Girardeau. Wilkinson and Stahly were also candlelighters.
Flower girl was Sarah Elfrink, daughter of Kevin and Lisa Elfrink of Jackson, Mo. Ringbearer was Parker Mitten, son of Trae and Heather Mitten and nephew of the bride.
Jessie Keys of Cape Girardeau and Carrie Covilli of St. Charles attended the guest book.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Show Me Center. Servers were Carol Scherer, Terri Jackson, Ann Dial, Judy Brown and Barbara Crain, all of Cape Girardeau.
The groom's family hosted the rehearsal dinner July 21 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Guard expects to receive a degree in social work from Southeast Missouri State University in December 2001. She is employed at the university.
The groom expects to receive a degree in mass communications from the university in December 2001. He is employed at Royal N-Orleans Restaurant.
The couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
