Cindy Lea Wachter and Timothy Patrick Johnston were married Sept. 28, 2002, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells. The Rev. Walter Patzwitz performed the ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Charley and Retha Wachter of New Wells, and Tim and Linda Johnston of Scott City.
Maid of honor was Denise Aufdenberg of Jackson. Bridesmaids were Vicki and Terri Wachter of New Wells, sisters of the bride; and Gail Amick of Scott City. Junior bridesmaid was Tonya Scholl of Jackson, godchild of the bride.
Scott Johnston of Scott City served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Mark Johnston of Scott City, brother of the groom; Travis Burger of Friedheim; and Jamie Wachter of New Wells, brother of the bride. Junior groomsman was Caleb Statler of Jackson, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Clayton Helderman of Jackson, Barry Graham and Brent Raines of Scott City.
Candlelighters were David and Marcella Mack, godparents of the groom.
Flower girl was Olivia Jansen of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the groom. Ringbearer was B.J. Heuer of Cape Girardeau.
Corrie Hogan attended the guest book. Programs were handed out by Suzi Mack, cousin of the groom.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 27 in the church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Johnston is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She is a bookkeeper at Peoples Bank of Altenburg in Jackson.
The groom is a graduate of Southeast University. He is assistant project manager and safety coordinator with Gregory Construction Inc. in Jackson.
The couple resides in Scott City.
