The Larimore Plantation House in St. Louis was the setting for the Oct. 7, 2006, wedding of Susan Ashley Smith and Scott Michael Eftink. Robert Rockabrand performed the ceremony. A poem was read by Reid McCollum of Chicago.
The bride is the daughter of Blair and Dory Smith of St. Louis. The groom is the son of Leon and MaryJane Eftink of Cape Girardeau.
Man of honor was Nate Smith of Portland, Ore., brother of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ashley Smith of Portland, sister-in-law of the bride; Missy Wright of Farmington, Mo., cousin of the bride; Monica Rooker of Ballwin, Mo., and Reid McCollum.
The groom chose his father as best man. Groomsmen were Brian Eftink of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Mark Eftink of O'Fallon, Mo., brothers of the groom; Doug Cornwell of St. Charles, Mo., cousin of the groom; and Phillip Davidson of Atlanta, Ga.
Flower girls were Kate Smith of West Palm Beach, Fla., cousin of the bride, and Madison Eftink of O'Fallon, niece of the groom. Ringbearers were Jackson Eftink of Chattanooga, nephew of the groom, and Karter Smith of West Palm Beach, cousin of the bride.
The reception was held at the Larimore Plantation House.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Oct. 6 at Whitmoor Country Club in St. Charles.
Mrs. Eftink received a degree in recreation administration from Central Methodist University. She is pursuing a graduate degree in sports management at Lindenwood University. She is a softball coach at Nerinx Hall High School.
The groom received a degree in business from Central Methodist University. He and a brother, Mark, operate the Remodeling Room in St. Charles.
After a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple resides in St. Charles.
