Sloan - Steele

Jessica Ann Sloan and Dr. Michael P. Steele were united in marriage June 28, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Louis. The Rev. Jason Rust performed the ceremony. Organist was Wes Kassulke of St. Louis, and soloist was Paige Lewis of Bloomington, Ill.

The bride is the daughter of Sharon Sloan of St. Peters, Mo., and the late Rex Sloan. The groom is the son of Richard and Gayle Steele of Cape Girardeau.

Matron of honor was Courtney Pellegrin of St. Louis. Bridesmaids were Katie Kohnen of St. Louis, Jamie Kemerling of Wentzville, Mo., Paige Lewis, and Kelly Walsh of St. Louis.

Richard G. Steele Jr. of Jackson, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Ryan Woods of St. Louis, Eric Kelley of Cape Girardeau, Dr. Damian Ploof of San Diego, Calif., and Tyson Markhan of Kansas City, Mo. Ushers were Dr. Penn Tran of Los Angeles, Calif., and Aaron and Jason Sloan of St. Peters, brothers of the bride.

Flower girl and ringbearer were Elizabeth and Nathan Steele, niece and nephew of the groom. They are the children of Richard and Julie Steele.

A dinner and dance reception was held at the Franklin Room in St. Louis.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner June 27 at Cafe DeMenil in St. Louis.

Mrs. Steele received a bachelor's degree in marketing from Maryville University, and a master's degree in school counseling from Lindenwood University. She is a guidance counselor at Parkway Central High School in St. Louis.

The groom received a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Missouri, and a doctor of optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He completed a residency in the Department of Ophthalmology at Oschner Hospital in New Orleans, La. He is employed at Pepose Eye Institute in St. Louis.

After a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple is residing in St. Louis.
