Laura Rose Simmons of Cape Girardeau and Justin Timothy Voss of Columbia, Mo., were united in marriage on Oct. 1, 2011, at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Tom Kiefer performed the ceremony. Kathy McLain of Cape Girardeau was cantor, Lisa Simmons of Cape Girardeau was soloist and Leann Hendrix of Cape Girardeau was pianist.

Mrs. Voss is the daughter of Michael and Lisa Simmons of Cape Girardeau. Voss is the son John and Janice Voss of Cape Girardeau.

Caitlin Simmons of Cape Girardeau served as her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rachel Seyer of Cape Girardeau; Nicole Market of Jackson; Melissa Berry of St. Louis; and Shannon James of Cape Girardeau.

Jordan Voss of Cape Girardeau served as his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Jackson Voss of Cape Girardeau, brother of the groom; Ryan Simmons of Cape Girardeau, brother of the bride; Kyle Turner of Columbia; and Colin Douthit of Topeka, Kansas.

A reception and dance was held at Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau following the ceremony.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at Celebrations in KFVS Tower.

Mrs. Voss received a bachelor's of science degree in health promotion in 2011 from Southeast Missouri State University and is marketing coordinator at Marine Parents and a personal trainer in Columbia.

Voss received a bachelor's of science in computer science in 2010 from Missouri University of Science & Technology in Rolla, Mo. He is a programmer at CARFAX in Columbia.

After a wedding trip to Disney World in Florida, the couple resides in Columbia.
