First Christian Church was the setting Aug. 11, 2007, for the wedding of Renee Shoulders and Joe Shuffler. The Rev. Jonathan Bruns performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Roger Shoulders and Annette Shoulders of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Gene and April Shuffler of Washington, Mo.

Maid of honor was Jenna Talmage of Cypress, Ill., cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jodi Terschluse of Washington; Austin McCree of Carterville, Ill., cousin of the bride; and Chrissy White of Arnold, Mo., sister of the groom.

Chris Warren of Washington was best man. Groomsmen were Chris Wyne of Warrensburg, Mo., Andy Rose of St. Clair, MO., and Jared White of Arnold, brother-in-law of the groom. Ushers were Marshal Shaw of Trenton, Ill., and Ryan Broyles of Pocahontas, Ark., cousins of the groom.

Candlelighters were Brenden Talmage of Cypress, cousin of the bride, and Tyler Shaw of Trenton, cousin of the groom.

Flower girls were Kaitlyn and Natalie Bopp, daughters of Don and Jennifer Bopp of Lake Worth, Fla., and cousins of the bride. Ringbearer was Samuel Marshall, son of Alan and Candy Marshall of Booneville, Mo., and cousin of the groom.

Randy and Amanda Morris of Cape Girardeau attended the guest book.

The reception was held at the A.C. Brase Arena Building.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Aug. 10 at Bella Italia.

Mrs. Shuffler is a communicator with the Cape Girardeau Fire and Police Departments.

The groom is a firefighter with Cape Girardeau Fire Department.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
