Sarah Brooke Shields and James Randol Stovall exchanged vows June 15, 2002, at Northeast Christian Church in Rockford, Ill. Lee McClanathan performed the ceremony. Trumpeter was Brad Shields, brother of the bride; and vocalists were Brian Dvoy and Loralee McClanathan.

Parents of the couple are Bob and Pam Shields of Rockford, and Jim and Amy Stovall of Cape Girardeau.

Matron of honor was Nickie Gale of Kansas City, Mo. Bridesmaids were Christy Brooks of Kalamazoo, Mich., sister of the groom; Cheryl Shields of San Diego, Calif., and Kristy Shields of Roscoe, Ill., sisters-in-law of the bride; Courtney and Kelsey Carlson of Rockford, cousins of the bride.

John Humphrey of Kansas City was best man. Groomsmen, ushers and candlelighters were Ron Brooks of Kalamazoo, brother-in-law of the groom; Rob Shields of San Diego, Chris Shields of Roscoe, Brad Shields of Bloomington, Ill., and Nick Shields of Rockford, all brothers of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at Giovanni's Restaurant.

The rehearsal dinner was held June 14 at Cliffbreakers Restaurant.

Mrs. Stovall is a 1997 graduate of Harlem High School. She expects to graduate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in May.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Central High School. He received a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Mississippi in 1999, and expects to graduate from the dental school in May.

The couple plans to live and practice dentistry in Rockford.
