PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Stephanie Lynn Schumer and John Orville Reed Vandeven exchanged vows June 9, 2001, at St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold, Mo. The Revs. Bill Huggins and Chase Shelby performed the double ring ceremony. Organist and pianist was Mary Jansen of Leopold. Vocalist was Andrea Chambers of Perryville, cousin of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Allen and Janice Schumer of Perryville. Darrel and Carolyn Vandeven of Whitewater, Mo., are parents of the groom.
Maid of honor was Tammy Ruble, and matron of honor was Aarica Schumer-Wideman, sister of the bride, both of Perryville. Bridesmaids were Janal Schumer of Perryville, sister of the bride; Jennifer Vandeven and Dawn Stone of Whitewater, sisters of the groom; April Burton of Dutchtown, Mo.; and Apryl Sample of Perryville, sister of the bride.
Jacob Vandeven of Whitewater served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Bart Vandeven, cousin of the groom, Mark Statler, both of Leopold; Darin Eftink of Perkins, Mo., cousin of the groom; Larry Nussbaum, uncle of the groom, Brent Seiler and Martin Arnzen, all of Leopold. Ushers were Keith Vandeven, cousin of the groom, and Doug Deck, both of Leopold.
Candlelighters were Nikki Price of Glenpool, Okla., cousin of the bride, and Kelli Yount of Sedgewickville, Mo.
Flower girl was Samantha Sample, daughter of Roger and Apryl Sample and niece of the bride. Ringbearers were Victoria Vandeven and Jamie Sample. Victoria is the daughter of Dawn Stone and niece of the groom. Jamie is the daughter of Roger and Apryl Sample and niece of the bride.
Christina and Dezera McKinney of Leopold attended the guest book.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Leopold. Servers were Alfred Vandeven of Leopold, Jessica and Amber Schumer of Old Appleton, Mo.
The rehearsal dinner was held June 8 at the KC Hall.
Mrs. Vandeven received a degree in graphic design/graphic arts from Central Missouri State University at Warrensburg. She is employed at Syntrax Innovations Inc. at Chaffee, Mo.
The groom attended Southeast Missouri State University. He is a quality assurance manager at American Railcar Industry in Jackson, Mo.
The couple resides in Leopold.
