Scherer-Bommarito

St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church was the setting April 26, 2003, for the wedding of Angela Marie Elizabeth Scherer and Matthew John Bommarito. The Revs. Vincent Bommarito, Al Hoernig, Ignatius Medina, and Monsignor Sal Polizzi performed the ceremony. Lectors were Clinton Farrar of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride, and Julie Pisarkiewicz of Columbia, Mo., cousin of the groom.

Organist was Paul Berens, pianist was Jeff Overbey, and vocalists were Marlene Glenn, aunt of the bride, and Alan Bruns.

Parents of the couple are Gary and Bonnie Scherer of Cape Girardeau, and Joseph and Donna Bommarito of Fenton, Mo.

Matron of honor was Cassie Worley of St. Louis, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Bommarito of St. Louis, sister of the groom; Julie Brockmire of Cape Girardeau, Amy Michel of St. Louis, and Elizabeth LaFoe of Cape Girardeau.

Joe Bommarito of St. Louis served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Darren Scherer of Cape Girardeau, brother of the bride; Rich Mueller of St. Louis; Andy Pisarkiewicz of Tampa, Fla., cousin of the groom; and Jon Chiodoni of St. Louis. Ushers were Gary Farrar of Cape Girardeau and Ron Scherer of Jackson, uncles of the bride.

Candlelighters were Maureen Richards of Oak Ridge and Marcia Daniels of Cape Girardeau.

Flower girls were Jordan Bommarito, niece of the groom, and Rachel Farrar, cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Nicholas Bommarito, nephew of the groom. Jordan and Nicholas are the children of Joe and Belinda Bommarito. Rachel is the daughter of Gary and Jan Farrar.

A luncheon reception was held at the parish center, followed by a dinner and dance reception at the A.C. Brase Arena Building.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner April 24 at the Arena Building.

Mrs. Bommarito is a 1992 graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture business from Southeast Missouri State University in 1997, a doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2001, and completed a small animal surgery internship at Veterinary Specialty Services in St. Louis in 2002. She is a small animal surgery resident at Veterinary Specialty Services.

The groom is a 1993 graduate of Chaminade Preparatory School, and received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from St. Louis University in 1997. He is co-owner and vice president of J.W. Bommarito Construction in St. Louis.

The couple resides in St. Louis.
