ORAN, Mo. -- Monica Gene Scherer and Samuel Boehmer were married May 24, 2014, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church. The Rev. John Harth performed the ceremony. Musician was Angie Klueppel of Benton, Missouri; vocalists were Sarah Gibson of Nashville, Tennessee, and Chris Scherer of Oran.
The bride is the daughter of Daniel and Marlene Scherer of Oran. The groom is the son of Stephen and Julie Boehmer of Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Maid of honor was Rebecca Kennedy of Springfield, Missouri. Bridesmaids were Eletha Thompson of Springfield, Hannah Niehoff of St. Louis, and Megan Chapman of Oran.
Stephen Boehmer of Kearney, Missouri, was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Seth Boehmer of Lee's Summit, brother of the groom; Colin Higley and Clint Wallis of Kansas City, Missouri. Ushers were Clayton Scherer of Oran and Preston Scherer of Springfield, brothers of the bride.
Flower girl was Emma Harmon, daughter of Leslie and Chris Harmon of Springfield and cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Trevor Boehmer, son of Seth and Kristyl Boehmer and nephew of the groom.
The reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Oran.
The rehearsal dinner was held May 23 at Auburn Place Hotel and Suites in Cape Girardeau.
Monica graduated from Missouri State University in 2011 with a film degree, and is pursuing a master's degree and teaching certificate. She is a patient access representative at Mercy Hospital ER in Springfield.
Sam graduated from Missouri University in 2012 with a criminology and sociology degree. He is a registered polysomnograpy tech at Mercy Hospital.
Following a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple are living in Springfield.
