Nicole Schabbing and John Eberhart Cozean were married Oct. 5, 2002, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, Mo. The Rev. John Harth performed the ceremony. Music was by the Steve Schaffner Trio of Cape Girardeau.
Dr. and Mrs. William Schabbing of Jackson are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles H. Cozean Jr. of Cape Girardeau.
Matron of honor was Tracey Schabbing of Perryville, Mo., sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sara Schabbing of Denver, Colo., sister-in-law of the bride, and Laura DeBrock of Vincennes, Ind., sister of the groom. Junior bridesmaid was Erica DeBrock, daughter of Dr. Bart and Laura DeBrock and niece of the groom.
Charles Cozean III of Great Falls, Va., served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Dr. Mark Schabbing of Perryville, brother of the bride, and Dr. Bart DeBrock of Vincennes, brother-in-law of the groom. Ushers were Dr. Robert Schabbing of Denver and Kevin Schabbing of Jackson, brothers of the bride.
Flower girls were Victoria DeBrock, niece of the groom, and Sydney Schabbing, niece of the bride. Victoria is the daughter of Bart and Laura DeBrock. Sydney is the daughter of Mark and Tracey Schabbing. Ringbearer was William DeBrock, son of Bart and Laura DeBrock and nephew of the groom. Miniature bride was Linden Schabbing, daughter of Mark and Tracey Schabbing and niece of the bride.
Dr. Rebecca Schriener of Chesterfield, Mo., attended the guest book.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the church.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Oct. 4 at their home.
Mrs. Cozean is a 1991 graduate of Jackson High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in occupational therapy from St. Louis University in 1997. She is an occupational therapist with Restart at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
The groom is a 1989 graduate of Central High School, received a bachelor of arts degree from Wake Forest University in 1994, and is a 1998 graduate of Thomas Cooley Law School. He is a member of the Blanton, Rice, Sidwell, Nickell and Cozean Law Firm in Sikeston.
After a wedding trip to Kiawah Island, S.C., the couple is residing in Sikeston.
