Russell-Schmidt

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Michelle Suzanne Russell and Matthew Wayne Schmidt were married May 31, 2003, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Kevin Fausz performed the ceremony. Soloists and musicians were Tyson Zahner and Erin Darter accompanied by Michelle and Karl Suhr and Kirk and Kyle Miller.

The bride is the daughter of Curt Russell of Farmington, Mo., and Dee Russell of St. Louis. The groom is the son of Larry and Brenda Schmidt of Perryville.

Maid of honor was Sandra Schmidt, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Amber Carver; Stacey, Wiley and Charon Biggs. Junior bridesmaid was Bayley Hotop, daughter of Nick and Paula Hotop and cousin of the groom.

Chris Hotop, cousin of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Jason Bauwens, Keith Robinson, and Andy Paulus. Ushers were Elliot Hiscox, Anthony Mathenia, and Mike Russell, brother of the bride.

Flower girls were Sophia Schmidt, daughter of the bride and groom, and Leah Sutterer, niece of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dance was held at Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Kelly's Restaurant in Perryville.

Mrs. Schmidt is a 1994 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She received a bachelor's degree in social work from Southeast Missouri State University in 1998, and a master's degree in clinical social work from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2001. She is coordinator of the Alcohol and Drug Prevention Program for the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School in Perryville. He received a bachelor's degree in business from Lambuth University in Jackson, Tenn., in 1999. He is a financial adviser with Morgan Stanley in Clayton, Mo.

The couple is residing in St. Peters, Mo.
