APPLE CREEK, Mo. -- Whitney Nicole Pohlman and Garret Dean Hemman were married Jan. 4, 2014, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna, Mo. The Rev. Rod Bekendorf performed the ceremony. Organist was Sarah Bekendorf of Frohna, violinist was Matthew Mueller of St. Louis, and soloists were Debbie Lichtenegger of Altenburg, Mo., and Carol Duggan of Frohna.
The bride is the daughter of Steven and Jolene Pohlman of Apple Creek. The groom is the son of Doug and Bonnie Hemman of Brazeau, Mo.
Maid of honor was Kaitlyn Pohlman of Apple Creek, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kirsti Pohlman of Apple Creek, Alicea Mahnken of Cape Girardeau, Amanda Klaus of Altenburg, all cousins of the bride; Lacey Hemman of Marion, Ill., sister of the groom; Stacey Manche of Jackson, Tiffany Mahnken and Tessa Burroughs of Altenburg.
Jacob Pohlman of Frohna, brother of the bride, was best man. Groomsmen were Drew Palisch of Altenburg, Wes Buchheit of Perryville, Jason Steffens of Frohna, Dusty Unger of Tallahassee, Fla., Seth Wachter of Apple Creek; Brad Mahnken of Frohna, cousin of the bride; and Scott Engert of Frohna, cousin of the groom.
Flower girls were Madalyn Schemel of Altenburg, goddaughter of the bride, and Addalyn Engert of Frohna, goddaughter of the groom. Madalyn is the daughter of Amanda Klaus and Aaron Schemel. Addalyn is the daughter of Scott and Shelly Engert. Ringbearer was Aaron Wachter, son of Seth and Jade Wachter.
The reception and dance was held at Brazeau Hall in Brazeau, Mo.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Jan. 3 at the Tea House in Brazeau.
Mrs. Hemman is a 2006 graduate of Saxony Lutheran High School in Jackson. She received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Southeast Missouri State University in 2011. She is the first and second grade teacher at United In Christ Lutheran School in Frohna.
The groom is a 2007 graduate of Saxony High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in wildlife biology from Southeast in 2012. He is employed at East Perry Lumber Co. in Frohna.
After a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple is residing in Frohna.
