SIKESTON -- Tonia Renee Pennington and John William Pillers were united in marriage March 13, 2004, at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. William Koch performed the ceremony. Readers were Terri Matthews of Sikeston; Greg Schuller of Peoria, Ill.; Vicki Eister of Coconut Grove, Fla., cousin of the bride; and the Rev. Sandra Schaller of St. Louis. Soloists were Lori Templeton and Susan Vowels of Sikeston.

The bride is the daughter of Dorothy Pennington of Sikeston, and the late Robert N. Pennington. The groom is the son of Patricia Pillers of Sparta, Ill., and William Pillers of Baldwin, Ill.

The bride was escorted by her mother.

Maid of honor was Lynda Muench and bridesmaid was Janet Boner, both of Sikeston.

Greg Schuller was best man. Ushers were Clay Robertson of Marshfield, Mo., and Marty Boner of Sikeston.

Candlelighters were Abbey Gerlach and Mallory Levery of Sparta, nieces of the groom. Chelsey Levery and Katie Gerlach of Sparta, nieces of the groom, were program attendants.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Raudmont Inn at Miner, Mo.

The groom's father hosted the rehearsal dinner at Bo's Barbecue and Grill.

Mrs. Pillers expects to receive a degree in early childhood education from Southeast Missouri State University in May 2005.

The groom is a copy editor at the Southeast Missourian Newspaper.

After a wedding trip to St. Charles, Mo., the couple is residing in Sikeston.
