KELSO, Mo. -- Elizabeth Anne Montgomery and Byron Leon Pletcher were united in marriage June 2, 2001, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. The Rev. Oliver Clavin performed the ceremony. Organist was Hope Essner and soloist was Renee Reinagel, both of Kelso. Sophonisba Gathman played the Celtic harp, and Hannah Gathman accompanied on the tin whistle.
Acolytes were Luke Rayfield, cousin of the bride, and Logan Glueck, both of Kelso. Lectors were Julie Trowbridge of St. Louis and Maggie Devaney of Cape Girardeau, cousins of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Montgomery of Kelso. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pletcher of Cape Girardeau.
Rebecca Montgomery of St. Louis, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Andrea Morrow of Kelso, Gretchen Davie of St. Louis, Toni Essner of Scott City, Mo., Cathie Funderburg of Pontoon Beach, Ill., and Laura Pletcher of Cape Girardeau, sister of the groom.
Best men were Matt Miller and Nathan Weber of Cape Girardeau. Groomsmen were Greg Hellwege of St. Louis, Lance Craft, Micah Janzow and Bryan Altenthal, all of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Chris Hinze of Jackson, Mo., and Brandon West of Springfield, Mo.
Candlelighters were Casey Rayfield of Kelso, cousin of the bride, and Heather Angelbeck of DeSoto, Mo.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Vandergriff of Arcadia, Mo., godparents of the bride, presented the gifts.
Guest book attendant was Kate Devaney of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride. Program attendants were Conner and Sawyer Elfrink, children of Mr. and Mrs. Shawn Elfrink of Sikeston, Mo., and cousins of the bride.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City. Servers were Amanda Vandergriff of Ironton, Mo., Amy Clabaugh of Cape Girardeau, and Gina Elfrink of Sikeston, all cousins of the bride.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Port Cape Yacht Club in Cape Girardeau.
After a wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
