Anne Elizabeth Mitchell and Capt. Gabriel Thomas Hinkebein were married June 8, 2002, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo. The Rev. Jose Herrera performed the ceremony. Trumpet and organ selections were by Kansas City Music Connection. Soloist was Stephanie Laws of Kansas City.

Steve and Barbara Mitchell of Kansas City are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Thomas and Laura Hinkebein of Cape Girardeau.

Maid of honor was Alice Mitchell of Cleveland, Mo., sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Knicole Carson of Atlanta, Ga., Erin Anderson of Kansas City, and Kari Peterson of St. Louis. Junior bridesmaid was Laurie Mitchell of Hutchinson, Kan.

Michael Friess of Fort Hood, Texas, was best man. Groomsmen were John Briscoe of Columbia, Mo., Timothy Price of Jefferson City, Mo., and Andrew Mitchell of Kansas City, brother of the bride. Ushers were John Volkerding of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the groom; Steve Bilyeu of Louisburg, Kan., and Adam Mitchell of Kansas City, brother of the bride.

Flower girls were Cambria Bigham of Olive Branch, Ill., and Rebecca Mitchell of El Dorado, Kan. Ringbearer was Kyle Bigham of Olive Branch.

Guest book attendants were Ashley McElreath of Topeka, Kan., Emily McElreath of Cape Girardeau, and Blair Hinkebein of Jackson, cousins of the groom.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the home of the bride's parents.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner June 7 at Union Cafe in Kansas City's Union Station.

Mrs. Hinkebein received a bachelor of science degree in business from Kansas University, and a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is the labor and employment attorney for Fort Rucker, Ala.

The groom received a bachelor of arts degree in speech communication from Southeast Missouri State University, and a juris doctorate from UMKC. He is an Army JAG prosecutor and a special assistant U.S. attorney assigned to Fort Rucker.

After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple is residing in Enterprise, Ala.
