Jennifer Lynn Medlin and Alex Wiley Gierse were married May 30, 2009, at Lynwood Baptist Church. James King performed the ceremony. Music was by Agatha French and orchestra of Sikeston, Mo.

The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Brenda Medlin of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Robert and Nancy Gierse of Farmington, Mo.

Maid of honor was Jaime Medlin of Cape Girardeau, sister of the bride. Bridesmaid was Rebekah Smith of Farmington, sister of the groom.

Zachariah Pratt of Farmington, cousin of the groom, was best man. Groomsman was Benjamin Medlin of Cape Girardeau, brother of the bride. Ushers were Noel Stiles of Baker, La., uncle of the bride, and Doug Pratt of Farmington, uncle of the groom.

Candlelighters, guest book attendants and program attendants were Cassidy and Courtney Stiles of Baker, cousins of the bride.

The reception was held at Cape Girardeau Country Club. Servers were Etta Mae Langlois and Jetty Reese.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner May 29 at Bella Italia.

Mrs. Gierse is a 2003 graduate of Sikeston High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University in 2007, and is completing research toward a master's degree in business administration at the university. She is a sales representative with AT&T.

The groom is a 2002 graduate of Farmington High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Southeast in 2007. He is a sales representative with AT&T.

After a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
