FRIEDHEIM, Mo. -- Jessica Leigh McMillan and Daniel James Ponder exchanged vows May 19, 2001, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells, Mo. The Rev. Walter Patzwitz performed the ceremony. Pianist was Tyson Wunderlich and soloist was Brittany Moore. Readers were H.W. and Dianne Meyr of Cape Girardeau, uncle and aunt of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Marvin and Sharon McMillan of Friedheim. The groom is the son of Norbert and Toni Ponder of Perryville, Mo.
Amy Cattoor of St. Charles, Mo., was her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristen Koenig and Tara Hecht of St. Charles and Elizabeth Meyr of Cape Girardeau, all cousins of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Carmen Roth, daughter of Robert and Mary Roth of Frohna, Mo., and niece of the groom.
The groom chose his brother, Mike Ponder of Altenburg, Mo., as best man. Groomsmen were Ron Ponder of Altenburg and Tom Ponder of Perryville, brothers of the groom; and Jon McMillan of Friedheim, brother of the bride. Junior groomsman was Luke Ponder, son of Mike and Kim Ponder and nephew of the groom. Ushers were Gary Weber II and Dean Meyer, cousin of the groom, both of Frohna.
Flower girls were Shea Scholl, Claire Petzoldt and Mia Ponder, nieces of the groom. Shea is the daughter of Tim and Marty Scholl of Jackson. Claire is the daughter of Troy and Julie Petzoldt of Frohna. Mia is the daughter of Mike and Kim Ponder.
Candlelighters were Elizabeth Lukefahr of Altenburg and Dawn Thiert of Perryville.
Guest book and program attendants were Lindsey Koenig of Perryville and Elise Hecht of New Wells, cousins of the bride.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. Servers were Theresa Seyer, cousin of the groom; Marcella Meyer, aunt of the bride; and Valerie Stueve, cousin of the bride.
The bride is a 1995 graduate of Oak Ridge High School, and a 1999 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She is a customer service officer/branch operations administrator at First National Bank in Cape Girardeau.
The groom is a 1993 graduate of Perryville High School. He is employed at East Perry Lumber Co. in Frohna.
After a wedding trip to the Smoky Mountains, the couple is residing in Altenburg.
