Rebekah Suzanne McClard and Jason Byron Smith were united in marriage Aug. 11, 2007, at the home of Carol McClard of Jackson, grandmother of the bride. Tim McClard performed the ceremony.
Dan and Tracy McClard of Jackson are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Kathy Smith of Chaffee, Mo.
Matron of honor was the mother of the bride.
Marcus Dabbs of Poplar Bluff, Mo., brother of the groom, was best man.
Flower girl was Alexis Dabbs, daughter of Marcus and Nikki Dabbs and niece of the groom.
The reception was also held at the home of Carol McClard. Servers were Ashley Roberts, cousin of the bride; Carol McClard; and Peggy Boyd, aunt of the bride.
Mrs. Smith is a 2003 graduate of Jackson High School, and a 2007 graduate of Army Military Police School. She is employed with the 1137th MP Co. in Jackson, and is an instructor with Cape Girardeau RSP Unit.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University Law Enforcement Academy, and is pursuing a degree in law enforcement at the university. He is employed with PSC Security in Cape Girardeau.
After a wedding trip to South Carolina, the couple resides in Jackson.
