Ashley Elizabeth Mayfield and Chance DeWayne McDowell were united in marriage Oct. 1, 2005, at First Assembly of God Church in Jackson. Darren Henderson performed the ceremony. Pianist was Mitzi Heady of Jackson.

Parents of the couple are Kenneth and Tammie Mayfield of Jackson, and Wayne and Margaret McDowell of Cape Girardeau.

Matron of honor was Alisha Mayfield of Jackson, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Missy Daniels and Chelle Hale, sisters of the groom, and Nikki Crader, all Cape Girardeau.

Steven Hodges of Cape Girardeau was best man. Groomsmen were D.J. Henderson; Tod Daniels and Craig Hale, both brothers-in-law of the groom, all of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Dustin Cato of Cape Girardeau, nephew of the groom, and Chad Mayfield of Jackson, brother of the bride.

Candlelighters were Luke Daniels and Haley Cato. Luke is the son of Tod and Missy Daniels and nephew of the groom. Haley is the daughter of Craig and Chelle Hale and niece of the groom.

Flower girl was Logan Daniels, daughter of Tod and Missy Daniels and niece of the groom. Ringbearer was Elijah Mayfield, son of Chad and Alisha Mayfield and nephew of the bride.

The reception was held at the Elks Lodge in Jackson. Servers were Denise Lehmann, Rachel and Leslie Mayfield.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 29 at Ryan's Family Steak House.

Mrs. McDowell is a 2003 graduate of Jackson High School. She is employed at Jackson Medical Center.

The groom attended Cape Girardeau Public Schools. He is employed at VTG Audio.

The couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
