Melissa Ann Langston and Matthew Lee Stewart exchanged wedding vows May 23, 2009, at Bollinger Mill State Historic Site in Burfordville. Janet Hopkins performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Ron and Brenda McBride of Jackson. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Stewart of Commerce, Mo., and the late Libby Boone of Cape Girardeau.
Matron of honor was Sarah Briner of Jackson. Bridesmaids were Jessica Habeck of Frohna, Andrea Kestner of Scott City, and Heather McBride of Jackson, sister of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Elizabeth Taylor, daughter of the bride.
The groom chose his father as best man. Groomsmen were Weseley Hamm of Cape Girardeau; Bobby Langston of Oak Ridge, brother of the bride; and Roger Brown of Scott City. Ushers were Trever Johnson of Commerce, brother of the groom, and Brandon Crump of Millersville.
Flower girl was Alivia Stewart, daughter of the bride and groom. Ringbearer was Tucker Stewart of Oriole, nephew of the groom.
Sand carriers were Nancy Langston of Dover, Tenn., grandmother of the bride, and Maurine Stewart of Cape Girardeau, grandmother of the groom.
The reception was held at the American Legion Hall in Jackson. Server was Amy Langston of Oak Ridge, sister-in-law of the bride.
The bride and groom hosted the rehearsal dinner May 22 at the Bollinger Mill Site.
Mrs. Stewart is a graduate of Perryville High School. She is employed at Because We Care.
The groom is a graduate of Kelly High School. He served five years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including two tours in Iraq. He is employed at Langford Mechanical and Sheet Metal.
The couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
