St. Mary's Cathedral was the setting Sept. 4, 2004, for the wedding of Kristy Jansen and Steven Branson. The Rev. Patrick Nwokoye performed the ceremony. Readers were Katie Jansen of Atlanta, Ga., and Stephanie Horrell of Cape Girardeau, cousins of the bride.
Organist was Leann Hendrix of Cape Girardeau, guitarist was Matt Heinecke of Nashville, Tenn., and soloist was Olivia Cook of Cuba, Mo., niece of the groom.
Mike and Marilyn Jansen of Cape Girardeau are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Russell Branson of Washington, Mo., and the late Betty Jean Branson.
Maid of honor was Sara Jansen of Houston, Texas, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Christy Foster of Kansas City, Mo., Carolyn Preul of Columbia, Mo., Sara Dooley of Los Angeles, Calif., Gretchen Pfautsch of St. Louis, and Alexis Ramsey of Cape Girardeau.
Andy Niewald of Port Orange, Fla., was best man. Groomsmen were Mike Schell of Kansas City, Nathan Hesemann of Columbia, Bo Helms of O'Fallon, Mo., Darren Osburn of Kansas City, and Shoen Grayson of Bethany, Okla. Ushers were Scott Schaeperkoetter of Jefferson City, Mo., Jesse Loeb of Owensville, Mo., and Kile Nickelson of Washington, nephew of the groom.
Candlelighters were Becky Motchan of Denver, Colo., and Courtney Greene of Rolla, Mo., cousin of the bride.
Flower girl was Savannah Higgins of Cuba, niece of the groom.
Program attendants were Elizabeth Llewelyn of Nashville and Becky Bayer of St. Louis.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Bavarian Halle in Jackson.
The rehearsal dinner was held Sept. 3 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Branson is a 1999 graduate of Notre Dame High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2003. She is employed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of Owensville High School in Owensville, Mo. He received a bachelor of science degree in communication science disorders from UMC in 2001, and a master's degree in speech pathology from Tennessee State University in 2003. He is employed at Currey Ingram Academy in Brentwood, Tenn.
The couple is residing in Nashville.
