Emily Kate Hutteger and Brian Christopher Steele were married Aug. 24, 2013, at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Thomas Kiefer performed the ceremony. Organist was Dottie Meyr of Cape Girardeau, and vocalist was Kristen Swanson of Lees Summit, Mo.

The bride is the daughter of David and Judy Hutteger of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Jeff and Leslie Steele of Imperial, Mo., and the late Diana Steele.

Matron of honor was Amanda Morris of Jackson, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Christie Snyder of St. Peters, Mo., Jessica Forsythe of St. Louis, Lindsey Wehmeyer of Perryville, Mo., and Laura Boos of Cape Girardeau.

Adam Steele of Festus, Mo., was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Ethan Steele of Imperial, brother of the groom; Allen Frey of Cape Girardeau, Douglas Overbey of Denver, Colo., and Vasile Simintichi of Houston, Texas. Ushers were Chris McCrate of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Blake Urhahn of Cape Girardeau.

Candlelighters were Reilly Steele and Kennedy Woodruff of Imperial, sisters of the groom.

Flower girl was Audrey Morris, daughter of Randy and Amanda Morris and niece of the bride. Ringbearer was Chase Kinder, son of Courtney Klob of Jackson and cousin of the bride.

The reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Aug. 23 at Gordonville Grill.

Mrs. Steele is a 2005 graduate of Central High School. She received bachelor of science degrees in recreation and business administration from Southeast Missouri State University in 2010, and a master of public administration from Southeast in 2012. She is operations and recreation supervisor with Perryville Parks and Recreation Department.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. He is internet sales manager with VanMatre Motor Co.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple is residing in Perryville.
