Julie Jean Hogan and Mitchell Lee Ogles exchanged wedding vows June 21, 2003, at Centenary United Methodist Church. Dr. Clayton Smith performed the ceremony. Organist was Mary Miller of Cape Girardeau, pianist was Chris Altrudo of St. Louis, and soloist was Matt Brandt of Cape Girardeau.
Parents of the couple are Mark and Becky Hogan, and Jerry and Jane Ogles, all of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Christie Hogan of Cape Girardeau, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Betsy Hogan of Cape Girardeau, sister of the bride; Katie Barbour of Oxford, Miss., Cassie Koch and Courtney Bourbon of Cape Girardeau.
Ricky Ogles of Cape Girardeau was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Adam Bertrand of Auburn, Ala., Russ Mothershead of West Bend, Wis., Matthew Strickland of Cape Girardeau, and Jay Heddell of St. Louis. Ushers were Bobby Williams and Matthew Gregston of St. Louis, cousins of the bride, and Matthew Ogles of St. Charles, Mo., cousin of the groom.
Candlelighters were Bethany Williams and Meghan Mach of St. Louis, cousins of the bride.
Flower girl was Lauren Uhls, daughter of Mike and Dr. Ann Uhls of Cape Girardeau. Ringbearer was Tanner Walton, son of Zack and Cindy Walton of Jackson.
Lynsey Agent of Springfield, Mo., cousin of the groom, attended the guest book.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Deerfield Lodge. Servers were Barbara Gregston of St. Louis, aunt of the bride; Terry Ogles of St. Charles and Pam Ogles of Columbia, Mo., aunts of the groom.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner June 20 at Port Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Ogles is a 1999 graduate of Central High School, and received a degree in family life from Southeast Missouri State University in 2003. She is program director for the Arthritis Foundation.
The groom is a 1999 graduate of Central High School, 2003 graduate of Southeast University, and is attending the University of Tennessee Medical School.
After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple is residing in Memphis, Tenn.
