Rachel Lauren Hessenkemper and Frank Charles Bertrand III were united in marriage Sept. 29, 2007, at The Water's Edge in Gordonville. The Rev. Rob Mahner performed the ceremony. Soloist was Dennis Browning of Cape Girardeau, uncle of the groom.
The bride is the daughter of Rick and Gail Hessenkemper of Jackson. The groom is the son of Chuck and Evelyn Bertrand of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Carrie Hessenkemper of Jackson, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Laura Curcuru of St. Louis, cousin of the bride; Amanda Balsano and Jessica Richardson of Cape Girardeau, Audrey Usry of Seattle, Wash., and Amber Bertrand of Cape Girardeau, sister of the groom.
Robb Bartlett of Cape Girardeau was best man. Groomsmen were Daniel Richardson and Robert Guard of Cape Girardeau, Roger Brown of St. Louis, Mark Haaser of California, and Josh Browning of Illinois, cousin of the groom.
Candlelighters were Jessica Campbell of St. Louis and Kim Kelpe of Cape Girardeau.
Flower girls were Laura Bertrand, daughter of the groom, and Morgan Hessenkemper, niece of the bride, both of Jackson.
Lori Mueller, sister-in-law of the bride, attended the guest book.
The reception was held at The Water's Edge. Servers were Janie Browning and Kathy Bertrand, aunts of the groom.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 28 at Bella Italia.
Mrs. Bertrand received a bachelor's degree in health management from Southeast Missouri State University in 2003. She is a health promotion specialist at Saint Francis Medical Center.
The groom received a bachelor's degree from Southeast in 2003, a master's degree in business administration from Southeast in 2004, and a juris doctor from the University of Tulsa in 2005. He is an attorney with the law firm of Bradshaw, Steele, Cochrane, and Berens.
After a wedding trip to the Florida Keys, the couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
