Michelle Renee Hanson and Richard Michael Stout were married June 30, 2001, at the Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kan. The Rev. David Bybee performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Cyndi Affolter and vocalist was Emily Fawcett.
Parents of the bride are Max and Marsha Hanson of Clay Center. The groom is the son of Richard and Margaret Stout of Cape Girardeau.
The bride was escorted by her father.
Matron of honor was Amanda Aschenbrenner of Hays, Kan., and maid of honor was Emily Fawcett of Manhattan, Kan. Bridesmaids were Lori Stout of Cape Girardeau, sister of the groom, and Michelle Lawson of Manhattan.
Jon Martin of Jefferson City, Mo., served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Max Hanson of Clay Center, brother of the bride; Brandon Dow, formerly of Fort Riley, Kan., and Mike Walker of Fort Riley. Ushers were Mike Houk of Fort Riley and Bill Malcom of Clay Center.
Guest book attendant was Erika Steward of Clay Center, cousin of the bride. Eva Hanson of Prairie Village, Kan., cousin of the bride, handed out programs.
Following the ceremony, the reception, dinner and dance was held at the Catholic Parish Center. Reception assistants were Leanna Steward, aunt of the bride; Kari Evert and Erika Steward, cousins of the bride; Mary Boman and Nisha Appleby, all of Clay Center; Sue Janson of Wichita, Kan., and Michelle Janson of Overland Park, Kan., both cousins of the bride.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Clay Center Community High School. She received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Kansas State University in 2001
The groom is a 1994 graduate of Central High School. He is serving with the U.S. Army in Schweinfurt, Germany.
After a wedding trip, the couple will be living in Germany.
