KELSO, Mo. -- Heidi Marie Froemsdorf and Fernando Higuera were married Oct. 13, 2007, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. The Revs. Oliver Clavin and Federico Higuera-Vidal, uncle of the groom, performed the ceremony. Organist was Beverly Reece of Cape Girardeau, and soloist was Anne Moore of Dexter, Mo.
The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Mary Froemsdorf of Kelso. The groom is the son of Celida Gomez of Guadalajara, Mexico, and the late Jaime Higuera.
Maid of honor was Johannah Froemsdorf of Kelso, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Allana Marchand of Sarasota, Fla.; Maria Spears of Bowling Green, Ky.; Mary Kalinowski of St. Louis; Christina Fox of Oran, Mo., niece of the bride; Jessica Moe of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Irene O'Brien of Crofton, Ky.; Kathryn Sullivan of O'Fallon, Mo.; and Marianna Higuera of Anna, Ill., cousin of the groom.
Pedro Minakata of Cape Girardeau was best man. Groomsmen were Pablo and Francisco Higuera of Guadalajara, brothers of the groom; Thomas Froemsdorf of Steubenville, Ohio, and Michael Froemsdorf of Kelso, brothers of the bride; and Arturo Higuera of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Joseph Froemsdorf and Adam Ansberry of Cape Girardeau, nephews of the bride.
Flower girls were Marina Barry of Iron Station, N.C., and Cecelia Sanderfer of Kelso, nieces of the bride; and Valeria Higuera of Guadalajara, niece of the groom. Ringbearer was Reagan Froemsdorf of Jackson, nephew of the bride.
Shiho Kawamura of San Francisco, Calif., attended the guest book.
A dinner and dance reception was held at Drury Lodge.
Mrs. Higuera received a bachelor's degree in spanish education at Southeast Missouri State University, and is pursuing a master's degree in education. She is a junior high school teacher at St. Vincent's School in Cape Girardeau.
The groom received a bachelor's degree in spanish from Southeast, and is pursuing a master's degree in business. He is a spanish teacher at Oran High School and Scott County Central High School.
After a wedding trip to French Polynesia, the couple is residing in Kelso.
