JACKSON, Mo. -- Emanuel United Church of Christ was the setting June 30, 2001, for the wedding of Tara Lee Freeman and Michael James Conner. The Rev. Samuel Roethemeyer performed the double ring ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Danny "Rerun" Freeman of Jackson are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Conner of Effingham, Ill.

Maid of honor was Jill Becker of Dexter, Mo. Bridesmaids were Amy Stephens of Cape Girardeau, Tiffany Leech of Murray, Ky., Tressa Heise of Bloomsdale, Mo., Crystal Ziegler and Kyla O'Hara of Jefferson City, Mo.

Nathan Kreke of Edwardsville, Ill., was best man. Groomsmen were Jason Raak of St. Louis, Tyler Phelps of Charleston, Ill., Greg Powers of Mattoon, Ill., Ryan McDevitt of Jacksonville, Ill., and Joe Fandel of St. Louis. Ushers were Toby Freeman, brother of the bride, and Kevin Conner, brother of the groom.

Flower girl was Alexis Leuckel of Jefferson City.

Heidi Lading of Chicago attended the guest book.

Following the ceremony, the reception and dance was held at Route 25 Banquet Hall.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Brick Garden.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in general studies from Southeast Missouri State University in 2000. She is employed at Firstar Bank.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Effingham High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in physical education from Millikin University in Decatur, Ill., in 1998. He is a physical education teacher and coach at Central High School.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
