Wendy Lee Edwards and Marcus Eric Johnson were married Aug. 4, 2001, at Cherokee Park. The Rev. Grant Gillard performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Barbara Edwards Phegley of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Clarence and Marie Walker of Memphis, Tenn.
Maid of honor was Kimberly Edwards of Cape Girardeau, and bridesmaid was Jennifer Burroughs of Jackson, Mo., sisters of the bride.
Marco Ester of Cape Girardeau, brother-in-law of the groom, was best man. Groomsman was Timothy Burroughs of Jackson, brother-in-law of the bride.
Flower girl was Layton Hahs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hahs of Jackson and cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Caleb Johnson, son of the bride and groom.
Clarissa Walker, sister of the groom, attended the guest book.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Heartland Banquet Hall in Jackson. Servers were Chamisa Ester, sister of the groom, and Kristi Cavaness, sister of the bride, both of Cape Girardeau.
The groom's family hosted the rehearsal dinner Aug. 3 at the park.
Mrs. Johnson is a graduate of Jackson High School, and attended Southeast Missouri State University.
The groom attended Central High School and Southeast University. He is serving in the U.S. Navy, stationed in San Diego, Calif.
The couple is residing in San Diego.
