Jennifer Ann Downs and Mitchel Lane Miller II were united in marriage Sept. 14, 2002, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles Prost performed the ceremony. Organist was Lenny Kuper and vocalists were Mark and Mike Kohlfeld, all of Cape Girardeau.

The bride is the daughter of Harold M. Downs of Sherman, Ill., and the late Marie C. Downs. The groom is the son of Mitchel L. and Diane M. Miller of Cape Girardeau.

Matrons of honor were Rhonda Pech and Carolyn Hansel. Bridesmaids were Tara Miller, Kendra Hansel and Kayla Pech.

Matthew Miller served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were John Marshall, Gabe Miller, Randal and Casey Hansel. Ushers were Kenneth Downs and Drew Seib.

Flower girls were Rachel Hansel and April Pech. Ringbearers were Keegan Bell and Shane Pech.

Kate and Kristin Miller attended the guest book.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Drury Lodge. Servers were Jackie, Robin and Kathy Miller.

The groom's parents and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kohlfeld hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 13 at Kohlfeld Distributing in Jackson.

Mrs. Miller is a graduate of Williamsville High School in Williamsville, Ill. She received an associate's degree in liberal arts from Springfield College in Illinois, a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Illinois-Springfield, and a master's degree in counseling psychology for children and adolescents from Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill. She is a pediatric psychotherapist in the Chicago area.

The groom is a graduate of Central High School, attended Southeast Missouri State University, and served in the U.S. Army. He is a custom carpenter in the Chicago area.

The couple resides in the Chicago area.
