BENTON, Mo. -- Kimberly Kristin Degenhardt and Jon-Erik William Kern were married Sept. 17, 2011, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, Mo. The Revs. John A. Kennoy and Michael J. Casteel performed the ceremony. Organist was Bernice Kern and vocalist was Mary Glastetter, both of New Hamburg.
Parents of the couple are William and Barbara Degenhardt of Catawissa, Mo., and Daniel and Deborah Kern of Benton.
Maid of honor was Theresa Maher of Eureka, Mo. Bridesmaids were Kristina Linke of Fulton, Mo.; Christina Null of Pacific, Mo.; Brittany Kern of New Hamburg, sister of the groom; and Kendra Medlin of Kelso, Mo.
Kyle Kern of New Hamburg was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Jonathan Simpher of New Hamburg; Darrin Beal and Zach Arnold of Cape Girardeau; and Mark Degenhardt of Washington, Mo., brother of the bride. Ushers were Wade Sanders of Leopold, Mo., and Kyle Curry of Benton.
Candlelighters were Julie Enos of Cape Girardeau and Brandi-Lynee Kern of New Hamburg, sisters of the groom.
Flower girl was Gabrielle Enos, daughter of Michael and Julie Enos and niece of the groom. Ringbearer was Alexander Glessner, son of Robert and Kimberly Glessner of Hillsboro, Mo., and nephew of the groom.
The reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City.
Mrs. Kern received a bachelor of science degree in dietetics from Southeast Missouri State University in 2009. She is a registered and licensed dietitian at Mercy Hospital in Washington.
The groom received a bachelor of science degree in business administration, with concentration in human resource management, from Southeast in 2010. He is attending St. Louis Community College-Meramec to be a physical therapist assistant. He is an assistant teacher and administration worker at Creative Expressions Learning Center in Eureka.
The couple is residing in Washington.
