ORAN, Mo. -- Melonie Ann Cannon and Bobby Gene Phillips were married Sept. 14, 2002, at Delta. Cathy Medlin of Grassy, Mo., performed the ceremony. Nancy Phillips of Grassy, sister-in-law of the groom, played keyboards. Soloists were Barbara Kembel of Jackson and Kelli Kinder of Delta.

Parents of the bride are James Roy and Peggy Kennedy of Chaffee, Mo., and Larry Wehmeyer of Thebes, Ill. The groom is the son of James Rick and Tammy Phillips and Carla and Benny Ray, all of Oran.

The bride was escorted by her nephew, Jamie Hale, due to illness of her father. He is the son of Ladonna Welch and David Hale.

Maid of honor was Kelli Kinder, and bridesmaid was Sheila Gunter of Delta.

The groom chose his father as best man. Groomsman was Jeff Meador of Bell City, Mo., brother-in-law of the groom.

Flower girl was Kendra Kennedy, daughter of Patrick and Lisa Kirchhoff of Cape Girardeau and niece of the bride. Ringbearer was Tony McDonald, son of Mike and Sally McDonald of Sikeston, Mo.

Guest book attendants were Andrea Meador, niece of the groom, and Kelsey Hale, niece of the bride.

The reception was held at the Delta Community Building. Servers were Kathy Meador, sister of the groom; Nancy Phillips and Valarie Phillips, sisters-in-law of the groom; and Lora Hanebrink, aunt of the bride.

The bride and groom hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 13 at the community building.

Mrs. Phillips is a 1991 graduate of Delta High School. She is branch manager at American HomeCare Management in Cape Girardeau.

The groom is a 1995 graduate of Oran High School. He is employed at Manac in Oran.

The couple resides in Oran.
