St. Andrew Lutheran Church was the setting Sept. 23, 2006, for the wedding of Samantha Lynne Brown and Scott Michael Rhodes. The Rev. Paul Short performed the ceremony. Music was by Trio Girardeaux of Cape Girardeau.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Mike and Dianne Brown of Englewood, Fla. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon "Pee Wee" Rhodes of Cape Girardeau.
Matron of honor was Dawn Chalk of Ripley, Tenn., cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Shelby Hendrend of Ripley, cousin of the bride; Kelsey Holloway of Fayetteville, Ark., niece of the groom; Kyla Porter of Frisco, Texas, and Andrea Steed of Indianapolis, Ind.
Mark Rhodes of Cape Girardeau was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Sen. Jason Crowell and Dr. Mark Hahn of Cape Girardeau; Ryun Holloway of Fayetteville, nephew of the groom; and Brian Regenhardt of Grovetown, Ga. Ushers were Jim Childress, Greg Hesselrode, Jeff Maurer and Bard Womack, all of Cape Girardeau.
Candlelighters were Casey Holloway and Samuel and Zachary Rhodes, nephews of the groom. Casey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Holloway. Samuel and Zachary are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Rhodes.
Flower girl was Madison Hendrix and ringbearer was Matthew Chalk, cousins of the bride. Madison is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hendrix, and Matthew is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lanny Chalk, all of Ripley.
Program attendants were Michelle Hesselrode; Ashten Hesselrode, daughter of Greg and Michelle Hesselrode, and Jenny Womack, all of Cape Girardeau.
Rachel Hendrix of Ripley, cousin of the bride, attended the guest book.
The reception was held at the Plaza Conference Center.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 22 at their home.
Mrs. Rhodes is a 1997 graduate of Central High School. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Vanderbilt University in 2001, and a master's degree in higher education administration from Southeast Missouri State University in 2006.
The groom is a 1990 graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor's degree in general studies from Southeast in 1995. He is vice president of Plaza Tire Service in Cape Girardeau.
The couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
