Amanda Kathleen Brown and Justin William Heckert were married May 2, 2009, at The Acanthus on Lake Lyman. The Rev. Dean Brown, uncle of the bride, performed the ceremony. Readings were given by Leila Regan-Porter of Decatur, Ga., and Ann Donahue of Norcross, Ga. Pianist was Joe Wehunt, trumpeter was Greg Day, and soloists were Lee Brown, father of the bride, and Anthony Rehagen.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Brown of Inman, S.C. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Heckert of Fallbrook, Calif., formerly of Cape Girardeau.
Maids of honor were Amanda Cochrum of Spartanburg, S.C., and Amanda Culbreth of Inman. Bridesmaids were Jeanna Beasley of Inman, Dr. Donovan McAbee of Nashville, Tenn., Anna Peacock of Lyman, S.C., Jessica Steadman of Greenville, S.C., and Audrey Young of Smyrna, Ga.
Lukas Dittrich of Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, was best man. Groomsmen were Patrick Brown of Inman, Evan Grimes of Denver, Colo., Anthony Rehagen of Indianaplis, Ind., Walter Thompson Jr., of Oxford, Miss., Stephen Walentik of Columbia, Mo., and Seth Wickersham of Brooklyn, N.Y.
The reception was held by the lake.
Mrs. Heckert is a graduate of Chapman High School. She received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina. She is a senior editor at Atlanta Magazine.
The groom is a graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. He is a sportswriter at ESPN The Magazine.
After a wedding trip to Greece, the couple will reside in Atlanta, Ga.
