Michelle Brooks and Spc. Curtis Cox were united in marriage May 24, 2003, at Old McKendree Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Robert Felker performed the ceremony. Vocalists were the groom, and Mandy Brooks of Jackson, sister of the bride.
Parents of the couple are Lisa Brooks and Danny Brooks, and Art Cox and Lisa Cox, all of Jackson.
Maid of honor was Mandy Brooks, and bridesmaid was Barb Gleason of Cape Girardeau. Junior bridesmaid was Emily Lawrence of Jackson, cousin of the bride.
Jonathan Compas was best man, and groomsman was Brad Drum, both of Jackson. Junior groomsman was Matthew Brooks of Jackson, brother of the bride. Ushers were Drew Hoffmann of Jackson and Jeremy Parker of Olive Branch, Ill.
Flower girls were Sierra Brooks and Brianna White. Ringbearer was Connor Jackson. Sierra is the daughter of the bride and groom. Brianna is the daughter of Leslie White of Cape Girardeau and niece of the groom. Connor is the son of Keith and Wendy Jackson of Columbia, Ill., and cousin of the bride.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. Servers were Joe and Velma Jackson, Don and Doris Carlton, Henry and Rose Walters, Kim Lawrence, Wendy Jackson, Misty Lambert and Kathy Cliff.
The groom's father hosted the rehearsal dinner May 23 at Jackson Park.
Mrs. Cox is a 2002 graduate of Jackson High School.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Jackson High School. He is serving in the U.S. Army.
The couple is residing in Fort Bening, Ga.
