Laura Suzanne Brockman and Dr. Christopher McHaney Thompson were married April 27, 2013, at Loose Park in Kansas City, Mo. Greg Sadler performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Gary and Kim Brockman of Shawnee, Kan. The groom is the son of Ed and Marsha Thompson of Cape Girardeau.

Matron of honor was Sarah Todd of Lawrence, Kan., sister of the bride.

Dr. Jon Mark Thompson of Clearwater, Fla., was his brother's best man. Ushers were Thomas and Ryan Talbert of Austin, Texas.

Flower girls were Hannah and Amelia Todd and Kate Baker. Ringbearer was James Baker. Hannah and Amelia are daughters of Matt and Sarah Todd and nieces of the bride. Kate and James are children of Keith and Dr. Kristi Baker of Greenfield, Ind., niece and nephew of the groom.

Lacey Elmore, cousin of the bride, was program attendant.

The reception was held at Pennway Place in Kansas City.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner April 26 at Grand Street Cafe on the Plaza in Kansas City.

Mrs. Thompson received a bachelor of science degree in communication studies from the University of Kansas at Lawrence. She is an education specialist with SMART Technologies.

The groom received a bachelor of science degree in business management from Truman State University, and is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. He is a practicing dentist in Overland Park, Kan.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple is residing in Fairway, Kan.
