New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson was the setting June 4, 2005, for the wedding of Michelle Renee Bowen and Joshua David Hopkins. The Rev. Richard Northcutt performed the ceremony. Readers were Angie McKinnery of Springfield, Ill., sister-in-law of the bride, and Audrey Calvert of Hannibal, Mo.

Organist was Brenda Neumeyer of Jackson, and vocalist was Katie Edmonds of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Dennis Bowen of Riverton, Ill. David and Theresa Hopkins of Jackson are parents of the groom.

Maid of honor was Danielle LaPointe of Riverton. Bridesmaids were Allison Harrison of Springfield, Ill.; Amber Hopkins of Virginia Beach, Va., sister-in-law of the groom; Michele Lucas of Festus, Mo.; Kate Wrage of Lincoln, Ill.; and Rachel Meyer of Washington, Mo. Junior bridesmaid was Samantha McLemore of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the groom.

Austin Reed of Jackson was best man. Groomsmen were Lucas Hopkins of Virginia Beach, brother of the groom; Adam Hardin of Kahoka, Mo.; Nathan Sparks of Ewing, Mo.; Christopher Miller of Annapolis, Mo., cousin of the groom; and Curtis Jansen of Jackson. Junior groomsman was Kristopher Groves of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Scott McKinnery of Springfield, Ill., brother of the bride; Mike Crane of Springfield, Ill.; John and Joe McLemore of Cape Girardeau, both uncles of the groom.

Candlelighters were Richard Robinson of Nashville, Ga., and Nathan Hopkins of Litchfield, Ill., cousins of the groom.

Flower girl was Paige McKinnery, daughter of Scott and Angie McKinnery and niece of the bride. Ringbearer was Logan Tankersley, son of Robert and Celinda Tankersley of Marble Hill, Mo.

Melissa Hopkins of Litchfield, aunt of the groom, attended the guest book. Program attendants were Amy Bulatowicz of Riverton; Hannah Hopkins of Litchfield and Sarah Robinson of Nashville, Ga., both cousins of the groom.

The reception was held at the Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge. Servers were Betty Hopkins of Clifton Hills, Mo., great-aunt of the groom; Diana Robinson of Nashville, Ga., and Robin Miller of Annapolis, aunts of the groom.

The groom's family hosted the rehearsal dinner June 3 at the Elks Lake.

Mrs. Hopkins is a 2000 graduate of Riverton High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in education from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo., in 2005. She is a special education paraprofessional at Palmyra Elementary School in Palmyra, Mo.

The groom is a 2000 graduate of Jackson High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in education from Culver-Stockton in 2005. He is a physical education and health teacher, assistant football coach, and junior varsity baseball coach at Palmyra Elementary School.

After a wedding trip to St. Louis, the couple is residing in Palmyra.
