Blattner - Schmitt

Laura Beth Blattner and Timothy J. Schmitt were married June 3, 2009, in Orange Beach, Ala. Wesley A. Sundberg performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of John A. and Jane Blattner of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of JoAnn Schmitt of Chaffee, Mo.

Maid of honor was Jennifer McClard of Cape Girardeau. Bridesmaids were Lisa Hughes of Scott City and Brittney Powderly of Chaffee.

Jeff Schmitt of New Hamburg, Mo., was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Nick Steimle of New Hamburg and Shawn Powderly of Chaffee.

Ring bearer was Josh Schmitt, son of Jeff and Shawna Schmitt and nephew of the groom.

Amy Hughes was guest book and program attendant.

The reception was held at The Phoenix II in Orange Beach.

The bride's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner June 2 at The Hangout in Gulf Shores, Ala.

Mrs. Schmitt received a bachelor's degree in health management and health promotion from Southeast Missouri State University in 2008. She is employed at Chap Arnold Insurance.

The groom received a bachelor's degree in physical education and elementary education from Southeast in 2007. He is pursuing a master's degree in athletic administration from William Woods University. He is employed by the Cape Girardeau School District.

The couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
