Amanda LeAnn Abner and Jarett Dale Stafford were married Sept. 26, 2009, at Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. Mark Culberson performed the ceremony. Scriptures were read by Rhonda Ellis and Bethany Stafford, sister of the groom, both of Cape Girardeau.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Abner of Advance, Mo., and the late Nancy Abner of Oran, Mo. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stafford of Cape Girardeau.
Matron of honor was Val-Lisa Plassman of Mt. Carmel, Ill. Bridesmaids were Kimberly Pobst of Benton, Mo., and Heather Lee of Charleston, Mo., sisters of the bride; Jennifer Farnham of Benton, Jessica Nenninger of Jackson, Elizabeth Vanpool of Sikeston, and Jodi Berry of Jackson.
Nick Plassman of Mt. Carmel was best man. Groomsmen were Mark Beattie of Scott City, Austin Donk Reed of Jackson, Jeremy Diesel Farnham of Benton, Curtis Dick Jansen of Cape Girardeau, Toby Freeman and Elliot Shearon of Jackson. Ushers were Thomas and Joshua DeBrock of Benton, nephews of the bride.
Junior bride was Caroline Abner, daughter of Doug and Anne Abner of Oak Ridge and niece of the bride.
Junior groom was Brock Plassman, son of Nick and Val-Lisa Plassman.
Flower girl was Abbigail Plassman, daughter of Nick and Val-Lisa Plassman. Ringbearer was Grant Pobst, son of Dale and Kimberly Pobst and nephew of the bride.
The reception was held at the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 25 at the Elks Lake House.
Mrs. Stafford is a 1996 graduate of Scott County High School in Oran. She is a 2001 graduate of Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center School of Practical Nursing. She is an invasive cardiovascular scrub nurse at Saint Francis Medical Center Heart Institute.
The groom is a 1997 graduate of Central High School. He is employed at Saint Francis.
After a wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
