The "Young Musicians' Scholarship Fund" received a $1,600 check recently from City of Roses Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans supplementing donations from a "Messiah" concert held earlier this year. The total raised for the new scholarship fund was $4,500. The money will be used to promote church musicianship among the youth. Some of the scholarship funds will be directed to help these youth attend an annual Lutheran Summer Music Academy and Festival as well as support other music endeavors.
