Children were able to feel the wind with the wind canon and see the effects of wind/air as they played under the parachute, bounced balls on the parachute, blew ping pong balls with straws and tried to catch bubbles drifting through the air. All these acitivities help children learn about wind and air and allow them to experiment to increase their understanding of the world around them. "We are delighted to see families bringing their young children to share in these learning experiences", said Janice Jones, Success By 6 coordinator. "Our Born Learning events provide opportunities for parents to see first hand how young children learn and reproduce these activities at home. The more children know about the world around them the better prepared they are to be successful in kindergarten."
