Dress up in your Pirate gear come party and drink rum, have some fun! THIS will be the party of the summer!
The Dread Crew of Oddwood is a six member celtic pirate rock band from San Diego. Forming in fall of 2008, this adventurous and outrageously energetic group of brigands has already taken renaissance fair circuits, pub communities, private parties, conventions, and various music venues by storm throughout the entire nation. They have a slew of valiant, terrifying, and amusing songs, some of which have been featured on radio stations Rock 105.3 and Bilgemunky Pirate Radio. This swashbuckling crew has had their music featured in Volcom surf videos, performed and been interviewed on KUSI morning news, joined the select lineup of musicians included on the popular New Orleans music preservation CD series, Lafitte's Return, and performs at some of the largest fairs in America, including The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire, The Bristol Renaissance Faire, and the LA County Fair; all with attendances in the several thousands.
Featuring Captain Wolfbeard O'Brady on accordion and tin whistle, Quartermaster Nathaniel Grizzlejaw on anglo concertina, First Mate Riven Rahl on toy piano, Carpenter Ruba Jouba on mandolin and guitar, Navigator Smithy Crow on bass, cello, viola, and violin, and Gunmaster Castle on drums, percussion, and steel pans, Oddwood is steadfast gaining popularity in the pirate music genre with their epic seafaring sound and extensive vocal harmonization. Their debut album, Reign the Helm, features not only distinctive original work, but their critically-acclaimed covers from the spectrum of traditional Irish music to video game soundtracks as well.
Oddwood has been described by countless viewers as "amazing", "high-energy rogues", "an authentic pirate band", "thoroughly entertaining", "incredibly talented", and "musically brilliant, rum-soaked madmen". Rocktopus, their heroic new album, includes twelve brand new original tracks with timeless tales of betrayal, comrades lost, magnificent battles, dangerous journeys, and hilarious antics, as well as a full-length medley with their own unique twist on six different folk melodies. Best of all, it's now available to purchase!
If you're looking for an excellent mixture of grandiose performance and humor with a fiendishly piratical twist, The Dread Crew of Oddwood is at your service!
