If you visited a US Bank branch in the Cape Girardeau, Jackson or Marble Hill area between October 19 and November 11, 2014 you may have noticed an area in the lobby set up to collect items for military care packages, as well as an area where children could color pictures, write letters and Christmas cards to the troops over seas. Two local schools aided in the cause as well. Immaculate Conception School in Jackson, MO set up a collection site in their school allowing children to dress down for a day if they brought a item to donate. Also eager to help, the entire 3rd grade class of Chaffee Elementary School wrote letters to the troops in honor of Veterans Day. As a result, US Bank shipped over 37 boxes (600 pounds) of all sizes to a deployed troop out of Farmington, MO with hopes it will arrive in time for the holidays. Thank you to all who helped to make this cause such a success.
