On Tuesday,May 19th,at 6:30 pm, the Cape County Tea Party will hold its open monthly meeting at the Cape Public Library. This meeting will discuss "the most important 'governing event' in our lifetime."

If you would like to know more about the Convention of States Project going on in Missouri, this meeting will separate the facts from the fiction. Keith Carmichael, the Missouri director for the Convention of States Project, will be our speaker this month.

Keith and his wife, Glenna, both former teachers, raise beef cattle and have published a regional beef publication for over 20 years. They have been married almost 36 years and have three sons and 5 grandchildren. Neither had ever been involved in politics, but realizing, like many others, that our nation is on an unsustainable path to chaos and collapse, Keith began looking for solutions that might give their grandchildren and future generations hope of an America to grow up in.

Until a few years ago, Keith admits, he wasn't even aware that the U.S. Constitution - specifically in Article V - gave State legislatures the power and responsibility to act together and call for what is basically a 'federal oversight committee meeting'. Like many, he believes this federal oversight is long overdue.

As the director of the Convention of States Project in Missouri, Carmichael helps coordinate several thousand citizen volunteers who are organized and ready to support Missouri's 'application' for an Article V convention for proposing amendments in order to restrain the power and jurisdiction of the federal government.

He will have an update about the current legislative session and the Project's status nationally. Please join us to hear this valuable information. Those who want more information can go to www.conventionofstates.com. See you Tuesday.
