Slumberland Furniture Helps Make "Home for the Holidays"
for Area Families with Donation of Beds this December
Mattress and box spring sets to be donated to local nonprofits
This holiday season, Slumberland Furniture provided families in need with new beds through its annual Making Homes for the Holidays program. On December 6, Slumberland donated approximately 27 mattress and box spring sets, frames, sheets, and quilts to families in need throughout the community.
The Making Homes for the Holidays program began in 1993. Since then, Slumberland has donated more than 20,000 new mattresses and box springs to deserving families. Slumberland stores will also donate quilts donated from its store employees.
"For far too many children, a warm bed has become a luxury, especially in today's tough economic environment. With Making Homes for the Holidays, Slumberland is working to ensure that everyone in our communities gets a healthy night's sleep," said Jack Ford, Slumberland's owner.
Cape West Rotary volunteers helped to deliver to the families.
