During the halftime ceremony, the participants released 400 pink and white balloons - one pink for every eight white - representing the one in eight women who will have breast cancer in her lifetime.

Saint Francis launched Pink Up Cape in October to raise awareness of the disease in the community and to encourage women over age 40 to get an annual mammogram. To help this cause, the Dig for Life program provides free mammograms to local women who could not otherwise afford them. More information is available at http://www.digforlife.com.
