Perryville High School basketball standout, Natalie Bauwens, received Academic All-State Girls Basketball honors from the Missouri Basketball Association at the Academic All-State Banquet held at the Drury University O'Reilly Sports Center in Springfield on Sunday, May 1.

To be selected and eligible a student athlete must be a senior, have started 90 percent of his or her team's games or played 75 percent of the total team quarters played, boast a grade-point average of 3.25 or better and achieved at least one of the following: ACT score of 27 composite or better; SAT score of 2010 composite or better; PSAT score of 185 selection index or better.

Bauwens averaged 14.1 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game for the Perryville Lady Pirates this past season. She is the daughter of Kim and Mary Bauwens of Perryville. Natalie will be attending Maryville University in the fall.
