Perryville Elementary School third grade teacher, DeAnna Kluender, recently applied for and received a grant through the Missouri Arts Council. The grant is a 60/40 grant with the Missouri Arts Council paying 60 percent of the cost of the program. The grant funding will provide for the Imaginary Theatre Company from St. Louis to come to the elementary school to present three plays to the second, third and fourth grade students. The plays presented this year include: Puss in Boots, The Elves and the Shoemaker and The Sword and the Stone. "This is our fourth year of having them come," said DeAnna Kluender, "and the grant makes it possible now for them to come multiple times during the school year."
